NexPoint Real Estate Finance is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is a commercial mortgage real estate investment trust. Co. is focused on originating, structuring and investing in first-lien mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, convertible notes, multifamily properties and common stock investments, as well as multifamily commercial mortgage-backed securities securitizations (CMBS securitizations), multifamily structured credit risk notes and mortgage-backed securities, or its target assets. Co.'s portfolio includes senior pooled mortgage loans backed by single family rental properties and the junior most bonds of multifamily CMBS securitizations.
