Grindrod Shipping Holdings is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is an international shipping company that owns, charters-in and operates a fleet of drybulk carriers and tankers. Co. owns some of its vessels directly and some of its vessels in joint venture arrangements. Co. operates two businesses primarily in: the drybulk carriers business, which transport a range of major and minor bulk and breakbulk commodities, including ores, coal, grains, forestry products, steel products and fertilizers along worldwide shipping routes; and the tankers business, which carries petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, jet fuel and naptha, and dirty products, such as heavy fuel oil.
