Pioneer Bankshares is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiary, Pioneer Bank, Co. is engaged in commercial banking business. Co. provides services at six physical locations to customers in the counties of Page, Greene, Rockingham, Albemarle, and the cities of Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, VA. Co. also operates two separate subsidiaries, one being known as Pioneer Financial Services, LLC, which provides a variety of consumer investment and insurance services. The second subsidiary is Pioneer Special Assets, LLC, which is generally used in conjunction with certain foreclosed properties. As of Dec 31 2011, Co. has total assets of $167.2 million and total deposits of $133.9 million.
