Co. operates the Tokaido Shinkansen as its core business, the main transportation artery linking Japan's principal Metropolitan areas of Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, as well as conventional lines centered on the Nagoya and Shizuoka areas. Co. is also engaged in the operation of department stores, the sale of foods and beverages in the trains and stations, the leasing and sale of real estate, the operation of hotels, and the travel agency and advertising agency business, as well as the provision of facility inspection and maintenance services.
