Co.'s subsidiary, Midland Federal Savings and Loan Association ("Midland Federal"), has been principally engaged in the business of attracting deposits from the general public and using such deposits to originate residential mortgage and, to a lesser extent, consumer, multi-family, and other loans in its primary market area. Midland Federal also has substantial investments in short term U.S. governmental agency obligations and, to a lesser extent, mortgage-backed securities and investment securities. As of June 30, 2007 Co. had $124,893,000 of assets and deposits of $109,745,000.
